Wednesday evening a dozen of us from Sharing-Books attended the See Them Run event held for the benefit of Room to Read. Vancouver Room to Read Chapter's leader Sharon Davis and her team of volunteers created a wonderful evening. All of us came back most inspired by Erin van Wiltenburg, Reuben Jentink and Patrick Donker who ran 100 marathons consecutively and traversed Africa to raise funds for literacy.

Erin was not even twenty years old when she conceived this dream as she listened to what her heart was telling her about Africa. Reuben and Patrick joined her dream and with a minimal support team they engaged in this journey of a lifetime. An adventure that is daunting to most of us. As a result of following their dream they presented Room to Read with a cheque for $40,000.
